Discover all tastes of Croatian Zagorje through this unique two day tour. Visit the most beautiful sights of northern Croatia. Learn about traditional Zagorje vineyard cottage – „klijet” and taste some of the specific wine sorts of the area. Feel the hospitality and warmth of authentic rural houses – „zagorske hiže“. Enjoy local culinary specialties and taste some of traditional peasant dishes and listen the songs about the friendship, green hills and wine. Experience the real life of Croatian peasants, knights and nobles and reveal the secrets and legends hidden in this green oasis.

DAY 1

On the first day we'll take you to the Oršić Castle to see the Peasant uprising Museum where you will hear the story about the courage of Zagorje serfs and their fight for freedom.

Then we will visit the Old village Kumrovec – an open air ethnological museum and a birth place of Josip Broz Tito, where you'll see the culture of rural living in Zagorje.

From the old village we take you further to the one of the most beautiful castles of this region – Veliki Tabor, where you will have the opportunity to go back into the medieval times and here some romantic stories from Zagorje history.

We will end our first day on a traditional Zagorje rural farm, enjoying traditional dishes and sleeping in old Zagorje houses, renovated in a traditional way.

DAY 2

After a rich breakfast on the second morning, we are continuing our journey to see two of the most beautiful Croatian castles – Trakošćan and Maruševec, where we'll show you the precious souvenirs of the past life of the aristocracy and noble families.

After the castles we are going to visit the old baroque town Varaždin. Eight hundred years of rich history, old palaces, the Old Town, city of music and flowers will definitely impress you.

On our way back to Zagreb we will take you in a hidden oasis of relaxation and gastronomy pleasures where you will enjoy some more of traditionally prepared dishes.

And at the end remember what an old traditional song from Zagorje is saying: "Samo sem bregima dragim obećal, da vrnul se budem nazaj..."
